Linear equations with rational coefficient are very easy to solve. There are some steps that needs to be followed.

Solution:

First of all write the equation

$5x - 7= 3$

Then separate the variable on one side and constant on other side.

$5x = 3+7$

Do the basic arithmetic

$5x= 10$

Divide the coefficient of variable on both side.

$\frac{5x}{5}=\frac{10}{5}$

$x=2$

Q # 2: Solve $\frac{3}{2}(x+2)=\frac{5x}{4}+5$

Solution:

In this question only one additional step of solving the bracket will occurs

$\frac{3x}{2}+3=\frac{5x}{4}+5$

All other steps are same

$\frac{3x}{2}-\frac{5x}{4}=5-3$

$\frac{x}{2}=2$

$x=2\times2$

$x=4$

Solution set $= \{4\}$
