Parallelograms And Triangles

Theorem 10.1.1

Math

Theorem: In a parallelogram:

  • The opposite sides are congruent,

  • The opposite angles are congruent,

  • The diagonals bisect each other.

Given: ∣∣mPQRS||^m PQRS∣∣mPQRS

To Prove:

  1. PQ‾≅RS‾\overline{PQ}\cong\overline{RS}PQ≅RS; PS‾≅QR‾\overline{PS}\cong\overline{QR}PS≅QR

  2. ∠P≅∠R\angle{P}\cong\angle{R}∠P≅∠R; ∠S≅∠Q\angle{S}\cong\angle{Q}∠S≅∠Q

  3. Diagonals PR‾\overline{PR}PR and SQ‾\overline{SQ}SQ bisect each other at point O.

Construction: In Figure (i) join point S and Q.
