KINETIC MOLECULAR MODEL:
Kinetic Molecular Model of Matter states that:
Matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms, or group of atoms called molecules.
These molecules are always in continuous random motion.
This model is also called the Particle Model of Matter
BROWNIAN MOTION:
Brownian motion is the evidence of molecular motion.
Robert Brown in 1827, observed the irregular motion of pollen grains suspended in water and deduced that the water molecules were in constant, random motion. Thus the random, irregular motion of molecules is called “Brownian motion” named after the scientist.
