Thermal Properties Of Matter

Heat of fusion and vaporization

Physics

Heat of Fusion:

The amount of heat absorbed by a unit mass of a solid at its melting point in order to convert solid into liquid without a change of temperature is called “heat of fusion”.

Heat of vaporization:

The amount of heat energy required to change the state of a unit mass of a substance from liquid to vapor form at its boiling point, without changing its temperature is called “heat of vaporization”.
