NUMS MDCAT 2026: Test Date, Registration & Complete Guide

The regular registration deadline (8 June 2026) has passed. Late registration is open until Monday, 15 June 2026 by 4:00 PM, with a late fee of Rs. 8,500 for Pakistan centres. Register at numspak.edu.pk before the deadline — missing the late window means you cannot sit NUMS MDCAT 2026.

The NUMS MDCAT 2026 registration fee for Pakistan centres is Rs. 7,500 (regular) or Rs. 8,500 (late fee). For the international centre (KSA), the fee is Rs. 40,000 (regular) or Rs. 50,000 (late fee). All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. These are the official 2026 rates from the NUMS advertisement.

The NUMS MDCAT 2026 eligibility criteria require a minimum 60% aggregate in HSSC (FSc Pre-Medical) or an equivalent 12th-grade qualification, with Biology and Chemistry as mandatory subjects plus either Physics or Mathematics. Pakistani citizens, Overseas Pakistanis, Dual Nationals, and Foreign Nationals are all eligible. Result-awaiting candidates may also apply. Candidates under 18 must have a valid Juvenile Card issued by NADRA. A-Level candidates need an IBCC equivalence certificate. There is no age limit and no attempt limit.

NUMS MDCAT 2026 has two parts. Part A: 150 MCQs covering Biology (55), Chemistry (40), Physics (40), and English (15), to be completed in 2 hours 45 minutes — this carries 95% of the merit weightage. Part B: 50 MCQs (Psychological Test) with 15 minutes allowed — carrying 5% of merit. Total: 200 MCQs in 3 hours. No negative marking — each correct answer earns +1 mark.

NUMS MDCAT and PMDC MDCAT are two entirely separate entry tests for different sets of medical colleges. NUMS MDCAT (23 August 2026) is conducted by NUMS for Army Medical College, CMH colleges, and other NUMS-affiliated institutions. PMDC MDCAT (16 August 2026) is conducted by PMDC for government medical colleges across Pakistan. Key differences: NUMS has 200 MCQs including a psychological test; PMDC has 180 MCQs without one. NUMS score is valid for 1 year; PMDC score is valid for 3 years. Many students sit both tests to maximise their admission options.

Documents required for NUMS MDCAT 2026 registration: (1) CNIC or B-Form, (2) recent passport-sized photograph, (3) SSC (Matric) certificate and marksheet, (4) HSSC (FSc) certificate/marksheet or result-awaiting declaration, (5) Juvenile Card issued by NADRA if you are under 18, and (6) IBCC equivalence certificate for A-Level or foreign qualification candidates. The NUMS MDCAT 2026 passing marks are 55% for MBBS (approximately 83 out of 150 Part A MCQs) and 50% for BDS. Passing alone does not guarantee admission — NUMS merit is calculated as Entry Test 50% + FSc 40% + Matric 10%. Army Medical College (AMC) and CMH colleges have very high closing merits, so aim well above the minimum.

The NUMS MDCAT 2026 score is valid for one year only — for admissions in the MBBS/BDS Session 2026-27 only, as stated in the official NUMS advertisement. Unlike the PMDC MDCAT (valid for 3 years under the PM&DC Act 2022), candidates must re-sit the NUMS entry test each year they wish to apply. There is no attempt limit.
